Today, OSI Maritime Systems is a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions designed for naval and maritime security operations. Among those solutions, the company develops and delivers integrated bridge systems for warships, integrated dived navigation systems for submarines, and C2 systems for small craft. Presently, 23 navies totaling more than 600 warships and submarines operate using OSI systems.

The People Development Specialist is a passionate, resourceful learning professional committed to the Professional Development of the OSI Team. They contribute to the development, engagement and retention of OSI’s people, through truly innovative development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement and evaluate effective learning solutions for OSI technical experts utilizing both your own knowledge and the knowledge of technical resources within and outside the company

• Ensure that all OSI training and development is tracked, measured, and achieves high effectiveness ratings

• Implement programs and tools, create learning content, report on learning outcomes, then recommend and implement changes

• Identify, implement and manage a Learning Management platform

• Support Managers to build department development plans using the most effective delivery methods such as, Webinars, Instructor Led, Train-the-trainer, Video Learning, and Peer Training

• Schedule, facilitate and support OSI training sessions, workshops and presentations and ensure the delivery is aligned with identified learning objectives

• Update and develop training tools, sessions, and materials to maximize learning transfer and retention

• Lead, champion, and measure the effectiveness of the annual OSI Professional Development Program

• Stay abreast of best practices in industry, seeking innovative, cost effective learning solutions

• Ensure a personal high standard of service, professionalism and performance by actively participating in educational seminars and courses to upgrade skills as required

• Actively contribute to the People Operations team’s achievement of objectives

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning concepts, technology, and techniques

• Thorough knowledge of course development and design, including needs analysis, objective setting and assessment processes

• Demonstrated experience with learning management systems, and eLearning software and systems used to develop learning materials

• Knowledge of Dayforce Learning Management System is a strong asset

• Experienced in the development and delivery of both technical and non-technical training

• Excellent written and oral communication techniques; including, presentation and facilitation skills

• Advanced organizational, technical communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to provide strategic consulting and act as a change agent applying creative approaches to development of a learning culture

• Awareness of new developments, and best practices in learning and development

• Demonstrated ability to uphold confidentiality and manage sensitive situations with tact

• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships throughout an organization, combined with a strong people focused orientation

• Proven project management and leadership skills

• Strong analytic skills and data management skills combined with a high level of attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability/desire to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while prioritizing, problem solving

• Excellent MS office skillset, with emphasis on PowerPoint, proficient in core office programs and capable of learning key learning and/or role specific applications

• Passionate about developing people’s skills

The range for this role is $80,000-95,000 CDN and the actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
