Our expectations : The DZ Driver operates vehicles which require a “DZ” licence designation to deliver material to customers in accordance with safety regulations.

Your role :

  • Prepare vehicles for delivery
  • Verify that all products are securely loaded and protected from the elements and that all accompanying paperwork is available
  • Operate vehicles to transport material to private homes and construction sites
  • Park vehicles in designated area(s) and obtain necessary signatures from the receiver once unloaded
  • Operate two-way radios and cell phones to receive instructions and provide status updates
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance on tractor-trailers, including documenting daily inspections and ensuring safety equipment, straps, and paperwork are in place
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

The qualifications we are looking for :

  • Valid “DZ” level driver’s licence
  • Familiarity with basic house building construction in order to give direction to loaders on sequencing of loads
  • Good communication skills and ability to understand customer requirements
  • Familiarity with wood grading standards and ability to identify products
  • Good knowledge of the layout of city roadways, awareness of road restrictions, and ability to source alternative routes
