Family Meats is one of the largest provincially inspected processors in Alberta. We are currently recruiting a Barn Handler/ General Laborer team member for our Ponoka, AB facility.
As a member of the team you will be responsible for, but not limited to : General Responsibilities :
- Receiving Cattle: Beef, Hogs, Bison, Lamb, Sheep.
- Keeping required paperwork organized and sorted.
- Organizing the order of groups of animals for processing
- Keeping barn bedded
- Mucking pens after animals are moved out
- Telehandler/zoom boom operations
- Shipping/Receiving duties (picking orders, palletizing, loading/unloading)
Work conditions and Physical Capabilities :
- Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods, Bending, Crouching, adjust to strong odors and blood.
- Environment: Noisy, Odors, hot/cold barn
Qualifications/Requirements :
- Livestock handling experience
- Ability to be and stay organized
- Customer service skills
