The Oak Bluff Hutterite Colony, located near Morris, Manitoba is looking for an experienced full time Bookkeeper / Executive Assistant for the CFO. The office is located on the colony. This position reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for providing a variety of general accounting, payroll and administration support to ensure the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively along with ensuring efficient operation of the office. This role includes similar responsibilities for the CFO’s other group of companies.

Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and provide high-quality administrative support to the CFO
  • General bookkeeping responsibilities using QuickBooks Online
  • Payroll and Human Resources setup/administration
  • Manage Accounts Receivables (approvals, discrepancies & audits)
  • Manage Accounts Payables (online payments, wires/EFT, approvals, discrepancies, audits of payments)
  • Banking tasks (CMO platform management, wires & EFTs, manage PayPal Accounts, bank & cash reconciliations)
  • Events and travel coordinator
  • Manage and maintain Fixed Asset listing
  • Manage and review monthly Pre-Paid Expenses
  • Responsible for GST/PST accounts (monthly/quarterly remittances & refunds)
  • Manage Purchasing (review orders, approvals, credit card purchasing, office supplies orders approvals and ordering of bank cheques)
  • Ensure payment of all credit card statements (manage receipts/internal reimbursements and cash account reconciliation)
  • Maintain and review Grain Contracts (reconcile delivery slips, pickups, grain payments and handle discrepancies)
  • Audit, review and preparation of financial statements
  • Manage annual licenses, membership Fees, insurance reviews, fleet renewals, leases, contracts & service agreements
  • Manage grain inventory audits & insurance payments
  • Manage Property Assessment reviews and Farm Tax Rebates
  • Other duties as assigned by the CFO

Qualifications :

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in accounting, business, or a related field
  • At least 5 years working experience as a Bookkeeper in a computerized accounting environment
  • At Least 5 years working experience as an Executive Assistant
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office, accounting software (QuickBooks) and payroll
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with a high level of professionalism and ability to manage time effectively and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resident of Morris, Manitoba or surrounding area is an asset
