Role description:We are seeking a Government Market Sector Leader for the Canadian consulting practice. This position can reside anywhere in Canada, but preferably Ottawa or Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate will have a clear plan of how to drive sustainable Government Market Sector growth.This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional (P.Eng, P.Geo or other designation) and recognized leader to join our growing team. The Canadian Government Market Sector Leader will direct the Client Development Strategy for our federal, provincial, and municipal clients to accelerate the growth in Canada. Interested candidates will demonstrate a strong and well established record of accomplishment in developing clients, writing proposals, securing new projects/standing offers, and working with clients to realize secured standing offer business. The key drivers of this job will be to accelerate growth in target market sector by applying market trends, client needs, industry trends, best practices, growth accelerators, sustainable operations, maximizing secured standing offer business, etc. to drive net revenue bookings and to develop and deliver a clear and concise market sector strategy in line with national, provincial and divisional priorities.This role will sit within the Resilience Canada which is part of the Global Resilience Business Area.As part of the Resilience Canada, you will work on projects focused on sustainability and resilience.We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Role accountabilities:The Government Market Sector Leader will work with the Canadian Resilience Sales Director,Business Unit Directors and international teams to undertake the following; Definition and execution of the Canadian market sector strategy;Generation of world-class sector insights;Translation of Global, North American, Canadian, and Divisional value propositions to the Canadian Government Market Sector client base. This role will provide leadership and coaching of the Canadian Government Market Sector Team and community providing a clear sector vision, goals & objectives, and proposition to market. The Market Sector Leader will manage growth acceleration in Canadian Government Market Sector including key growth accounts, securing business within secured standing offers and coordination/communication with the Global Account Lead (GAL) program as appropriate on strategy, clients, opportunities, and projects. The Market Sector Leader must have strong business development skills and solid client base and contacts, positive industry recognition, a seller-doer mentality combined with strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills – written and verbal, ability to write ata high level for proposals and projects and ability to win and manage projects. Key Responsibilities include: Lead the development and execution of the Canadian market sector strategy, in line with the National and Global, if appropriate, sector strategy, through annual and multi-year plans;Coordinate the allocation of Canadian market sector growth objectives for key target and existing local client accounts along with PFOS assessment and remediation initiatives;Drive overall growth in Canadian market sector revenue, secure work within existing and new standing offers, seek new business bookings, and margin to meet or exceed planned targets;Lead the analysis and valuation of the local or divisional sector to build and maintain understanding and insight into it;Annually develop the Government Sector financial plan and key account goals which include net revenue bookings, profitability, etc.;Translate the Global, National, Divisional sector propositions into the creation of commercially viable market sector propositions which differentiate the company in the market and generate local demand;Lead the knowledge management and dissemination of local or divisional sector insights and propositions throughout the internal sector organization to ensure awareness, understanding and ability to practically apply these to client needs;Contribute to the development of national, divisional, and market sector marketing and communication plans. Lead the adaptation and execution of these into specific sector marketing and communication plans that position the company in the market;Identify new client, product, service, and value proposition opportunities within the Canadian market sector;Lead and support pursuits by contributing tailored sector insights and value propositions to address specific client needs;Develop and expand a sustainable network of relationships across the sector, leveraging these to enable the company to have maximum impact;Manage the identification and selection of key clients to ensure sustained sector growth;Recruit, develop and performance manage employees, coaching and mentoring them to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development; and,Promote a vibrant health and safety culture and practice. Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications: 10+ years of planning and design consulting experience in the government industry.Proven track record of growing a government sector business, client satisfaction and positive industry recognition.Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Earth Science related fields.Professional Engineer and/or Geoscientists designation within the provinces of practice and a member in good standing with the regulating professional association is a key attribute.
