A ECOM is actively seeking a motivated, talented, and well-rounded Senior Mechanical Designer with bulk materials handling experience for immediate employment that can be based either in our Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB offices. The Successful Candidate will have an understanding of mechanical engineering technology related to mining and industrial infrastructure projects using AutoCAD-based software systems. This person will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. This person will have a high level of initiative, motivation and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. The responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to: Design for mining and industrial infrastructure including heavy duty belt conveying systems, materials handling equipment, pumping and piping, water treatment plants using AutoCAD-based 2D and 3D packages and Navisworks. Ensuring overall data quality and integrity Prepare mechanical and process mechanical layout and detailed design drawings Prepare documentation for design projects and reports Undertake quality control procedures Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution Minimum Requirements Diploma/Certificate in CAD drafting or equivalent + 8 years of related experience in mining mechanical drafting and CAD, with demonstrated experience in layout and design of heavy duty belt conveyor systems and associated infrastructure Specific experience working with AutoCAD in a multi-disciplined 3D modelling environment for conveyors, process equipment and related infrastructure Proficient with MS Office suite Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of related experience Certified or eligible in AScT as member of the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia Experience using Autodesk Navisworks 2014 or higher for project clash detection, and coordination Working knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel would be an additional asset Good time management skills Excellent attention to detail Additional Information: Relocation is available for this position.
