To meet the growing demand for our product we’re currently seeking an Operational Finance Controller who, as a member of the senior leadership team, will advise management and provide financial analytical support to continue the profitable growth of the company. This includes preparing all internal financial reporting, financial forecasting and budgeting, maintaining and improving the costing system and managing the accounts payable function.

In This Role You Will :

  • Ensure the costing system is updated monthly with improvements as required.
  • Maintain product profitability reporting.
  • Update the cash flow forecast weekly.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and business enhancements through analysis and other business insights.
  • Proactively coordinate assigned aspects of financial reporting, developing a sound understanding of overall business operations.
  • Responsible for the development of efficient, effective processes and supporting systems to capture and report on assigned financial information.
  • Prepare rolling monthly financial forecasts for the balance of the year.
  • Prepare variance analysis (actual vs. budget and actual vs. forecast) and coordinate investigation and resolution into discrepancies with appropriate department managers.
  • Develop and deliver accurate and timely internal financial and performance reports based on business requirements to support effective departmental management and ensure responsible fiscal management.
  • Prepare annual operating budget.
  • Manage and make improvements to the accounts payable processing system, from inputting invoices to payment processing.
  • Manage all inventory count procedures with operational management.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory levels, while ensuring there are no disruptive stock-out issues.
  • Prepare financial pay back analysis for capital projects.
  • Approve bank payments.
  • Provide back-up for team members and Corporate Controller as required for vacation periods or absences.

We’re Looking For :

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of full-cycle accounting, including independently handling the month-end process, reporting, and preparing financial statements.
  • Experience in operational finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with a large volume data collection environment.
  • Previous experience working at a Canadian multi-million-dollar revenue manufacturing company.
  • CPA designated.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based external stakeholder relations.
  • Ability to provide guidance and advice to enable decision-making about tasks, situations, and processes.
  • Skilled in examining data or facts to determine appropriate actions or recommendations.
  • Planning skills to determining phases and steps, defining activities and tasks and establishing schedules to complete objectives on time and within budget.
  • Ability to project outcomes of an action or a series of actions.
