The Coordinator assists in developing the HSE components to support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the HSE Management system.Responsiblities:• Coordinates the development and revision of policies, procedures and programs.• Conducts inspections of all facilities.• Ensures proper training of all employees in operation, safety and maintenance functions.• Communicate and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with DMC’s HSMS.• Ensures that all HSE reporting is accurate, complete and distributed as per the DMC HSE Management• System.• Facilitate the investigation of incidence, accidents and injuries.• Facilitates the compilation and submittal of accident / incident reports required by DMC Mining Services and regulatory agencies.• Cooperates in preparation of materials and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.• Participates in the administration of the workers compensation program, including the coordination of modified duties.• Maintains safety files and training records.• Plans and conducts inspection and safety meetings with crews.• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.• Assist in conducting needs analysis, development and delivery of safety education topics.• Facilitate risk assessments.• Represents the organization in the community and industry with respect to safety group programs.• Purchases and assists with the procurement of PPE supplies.• Assists with the orientation process of new employees.Qualifications:• Ontario Underground Common Core• Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or the ability to achieve (asset).• Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related regulations.• Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.• Computer knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.*No external recruiters please.
