With over 550 team members, the underground operation is located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Position: Network / IT Coordinator Reports to: IT Supervisor Location: Magino Mine Role Overview/Purpose: Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the Coordinator, Network & IT is responsible for providing day to day user support including maintaining computer equipment, troubleshooting and performing adjustments and minor repairs. This person will also handle network connectivity, manage information security, and implement overall IT services and special projects. Primary Responsibilities: Provide direct support to users across the site by conducting workstation setup, performing IT maintenance tasks, and ensuring employee connectivity to networks including printers and scanners used by multiple users.Handle minor repairs as required.Maintain IT, networking and telecommunications documentation and records.Diagnose connectivity or data access problems and answer questions about hardware and software. Manage information security, set up antivirus programs on workstations, develop policies for email security, and perform periodic data audits and backups to prevent information loss and unauthorized access.Troubleshoot systems and hardware.Work with third party providers on ongoing projects.Review IT requests (software and hardware), complete Purchase Requisitions and order and receive required equipment.Control equipment distribution and inventory replenishment.Provide support for radio communications across the site. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience: Education: Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT user support, telecommunications and networking, preferably in mining, manufacturing, heavy industry.Experience supporting IT user base of 200 (minimum preferred) including setting up workstations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and answering user questions.Experience providing network support including connectivity, working with third party providers and business software implementation.Sound knowledge of information security best practices and experience developing related policies and procedures. Experience coordinating IT projects, creating, and managing IT scopes of work with business units and procurement.Experience with Radio communication at remote sites is an asset.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the operation.Demonstrated problem-solving ability.Excellent time management skills with a strong ability to multitask.Can work autonomously on specific tasks to meet deadlines.Ability to handle special projects concurrently and make sound project decisions.Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment.Possess a valid driver’s license. Working Conditions: The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometers northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off (12-hour days). Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
