Due to growth, they are hiring for a Director of Finance & Reporting to lead a small team. This is a hybrid position allowing for 1 day/week to work from home. The Role: The Director of Finance & Reporting reports to the Executive Director and has overall responsibility for all aspects of Accounting and Finance. The Director of Finance & Reporting collaborates with other senior leadership to ensure accountability for budgeting and reporting. As the senior financial leader in the Agency, you ensure responsible management of a large budget, with varied funding sources. You will prepare and analyze financial statements, implement effective financial policies and practices, and adhere to funder and Board reporting requirements. You work collaboratively with the administration team, as well as service delivery leadership, to ensure effective use of the organization's resources What You bring to the Role: To be considered for the position of Director of Finance & Reporting, you must be a designated CPA. You must be a strong leader with empathy and patience. You will be working closely with the Service Directors to control program costs and report on monthly spending vs budgeted funds, and so are well-versed in communicating financial information to non-finance professionals. You must come from a similar not-for-profit organization where you have gained considerable experience with provincial and federal ministry funding reporting requirements (This is a must-have and a non-negotiable requirement). Our client offers an excellent overall compensation package with full-paid healthcare benefits, pension plan (2/3 funded by the employer), generous paid time off policies and other health & wellness benefits. ·      Prepare and submit reports to funders, the Board of Directors, and Management Team ·      Prepare and submit monthly reports on financial statement variances to the Executive Director ·      Lead the development of annual capital and operating budgets and review performance in comparison ·      Produce monthly financial statements to review with service directors; check and circulate general ledgers ·      Lead preparation of financial aspects of funder reporting requirements, adhering to externally imposed deadlines ·      Follow licensing, supplier and government policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines and take corrective action ·      Develop and implement finance policies, procedures and operational/reporting metrics ·      Review payroll reports to ensure appropriate GL distribution on a bi-weekly basis and act as backup for payroll approval as required ·      Review funding contracts to verify accuracy and take corrective action ·      Negotiate banking arrangements, leases, and purchase contracts ·      Review and approve financial statements, including supporting account reconciliations ·      Review and approve bank reconciliations, and aged accounts receivables and payables ·      Review and sign Agency payment cheques and approve and process electronic funds transfers ·      Prepare HST rebates and annual charity returns ·      Establish and maintain fixed asset inventory for all locations ·      Lead the annual audit process by acting as the direct liaison between the Agency and the appointed auditors ·      Participate in Board Meetings as required to share information, provide reports and resolve problems ·      Provide supervision and coaching to junior finance staff Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
