St. Lawrence Barristers PC is currently looking for a Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience Are you an accomplished Litigation Associate with at least three years’ experience in civil litigation who is eager to manage your own files? Who we are: St. Lawrence Barristers PC is a boutique litigation firm dedicated to zealous advocacy and innovative strategic advice. We are experienced trial and appellate counsel who regularly appear before every level of court and numerous administrative tribunals across Canada. Our lawyers are experts in civil litigation, specializing in commercial disputes, health law, media and defamation law, privacy and technology, sexual assault and harassment, and administrative and regulatory disputes. Our lawyers are also passionate about social justice issues. We frequently provide subject matter expertise and representation on constitutional and human rights law issues, and intervene at the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of our public interest clients. Our ideal candidate: · Has at least 3 years of experience in civil litigation. Knowledge of defamation, health law, privacy, or administrative law is a plus · Has experience managing their own files and is motivated to take an active role in managing litigation files, including consultations with new clients · Able to provide clear instruction and project specific oversight for more junior lawyers and law students assisting you on files, as well as provide litigation support to more senior counsel · Has experience in examinations, motions, mediations, and trial advocacy · Able to independently draft and review pleadings, briefs, and other court documents to final or near final form; · Has sound and thorough research and writing skills · Is adept at critical thinking and problem solving, capable of navigating challenges independently and seeking collaborative solutions when necessary · Thrives both independently and collaboratively within our team · Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills · Is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
