Position Summary

Reporting to the Nurse Practitioner, as MRP, the Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for comprehensive nursing in the care of Medically Complex patients. Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions

Education Requirements

Graduate of an accredited college nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training Fundamentals of Palliative Care (preferred) Geriatric Certificate (preferred)

Mandatory Qualifications

Recent experience in medically acute, rehabilitation or medically complex nursing setting. Strong clinical practices with ability to champion evidence based best practice Knowledge and understanding of Continuing Care reporting systems (CCR), Resident Assessment Instrument(RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS)
