Designated Early Childhood Educator - Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario Rates of Pay - Qualified DECE - $24.80/hour - $31.80/hour (Salary Commensurate with Experience and Qualifications)This position will start August 29, 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES The Early Childhood Educator, under the direction of thePrincipal, will work in partnership with the Classroom Teacher, parents, otherearly childhood educators, educational support staff and special educationstaff. They will be responsible forsupporting early learning in an enriched learning environment designed to helpchildren develop the foundational social, emotional, academic and physicalskills necessary to succeed in school and in life, as well as support theextension of learning into the child’s home. Duties will include planning and implementing the Early Learning Programunder the guidance of the Principal, working collaboratively with all staff totrack the developmental progress of all children, providing support to theteacher in writing report cards, participating in parent-teacher conferences,creating an inclusive learning environment, providing proactive and reactiveinterventions, providing oversight to support the health, safety and well beingof children in the program and facilitating home/school communication, as wellas other duties as assigned by the Principal.QUALIFICATIONS Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent as well as aDiploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with theOntario College of Early Childhood Educators is required. Thisposition is ten months per year (September to June/school year).One reference must be arecent/immediate supervisor.
