Job DescriptionRaise is hiring an Advanced Metering Systems Operations Support for Our Client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada. This position is a one (1)-year contract located in Burnaby, BC with a high chance of extension for the right candidate. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward.DescriptionThe Advanced Metering Systems Operations Support will monitor and maintain the NMS/FND/TPS applications; monitors and/or tests on MSGN systems; may lead the implementation of related fixes, minor enhancements, and upgrades to CGR and Meter FW; and provides MSGN guidance to enable business operations and projects in achieving organizational objectives.Role Accountabilities:Monitor and maintain daily NMS/FND/TPS system operations and batch performance by performing routine sustainment activities such as troubleshooting issues, documenting root cause analysis, testing and applying bug fixes, and updating standard operating procedures to support multiple sustainment teams.Collaborate with the business, vendors, and team members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve MSGN/NMS/FND/TPS and CGR WPAN/Meter RFMEsh issues while providing timely status updates to the solution lead on all work requests.Contribute to MSGN projects and initiatives such as version upgrades and enhancements as needed to continuously produce high quality and sustainable solutions.Provide guidance and technical expertise regarding the functions and operations of MSGN components to users, customers, partner resources, team members, and multiple sustainment teams to continuously build capabilityImprove the efficiency of MSGN by identifying opportunities, presenting feasible technical options and recommendations on enhancements, following best industry practices, maintaining awareness of technological developments, and researching hardware and software products to ensure innovative, dependable, and quality technology solutions.May lead the implementation of related fixes, minor enhancements, and upgrades to CGR and Meter FW as required, following standards and guidelines. Qualifications:4+ years of IT production support and/or upgrade experience with enterprise application software4+ years of working experience and technical skills in the applications listed under education and skills, or equivalent.4+ years of IT production support and/or upgrade experience with Advance Metering/AMI Systems in the utility industry an assetBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent diploma/certificationExperience with network concepts such as routing, broadcast domains, firewall, IPv4/IPv6.Must have work experience with Linux/Unix OS and excellent technical skills in troubleshooting.Excellent technical skills and working experience with ITIL best practices and the software development lifecycle.Knowledge/experience with Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/ SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, Platform validation, HA, QOS, network management an asset.Oracle database and/or other relational databases, using SQL and querying tools (Toad, SQL Developer), and tuning/performance monitoring tools (OEM) an asset.Excellent technical skills in troubleshooting and correcting issues in the following areas:Web and network technologies: .Net, HTML, XML, web services, TCP/IP, SOAP, SSL certificatesNetwork concepts such as routing, broadcast domains, firewall conceptsUNIX operating systems, and commonly used OS commands and basic shell scriptingSSH/Putty, FTP/SFTP applicationsDatabase and/or other relational databases, using SQL and querying tools such as Toad and SQL Developer, and tuning/performance monitoring tools (OEM)System/network hardware, protocols and standards, including RAID, SSO/Active Directory/LDAP/SAML/ADFS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/SSH, Cyber Security/SIEM/log management, firewall, switches, routers, load balancers, VPN, remote accessEthernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/ SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, Platform validation, HA, QOS, network managementLinux OS system experience with proficiency in tasks such as shell scripting, cron jobs, analyzing log files and configuringOracle database and/or other relational databases, using SQL and querying tools (Toad, SQL Developer), and tuning/performance monitoring tools (OEM)Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and PowerPoint)Excellent communication skills for professional environment, written and spoken. Additional Information Must work Hybrid - minimum 2 days in office per week and as needed based on business requirement.
