Alamos Gold’s Island Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Primary Responsibilities: - Our goal is to have zero safety incidents through strong leadership and culture development - Coordinate daily production activities that meet the mine plan and to set goals for self and others to achieve this objective. - Participate in managing operating costs, work schedules. - Provide timely, accurate and well-communicated shift reports and summaries for cross-shift and turnaround needs. - Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals - both within own department and cross-departmentally. - Participate in maintenance and reliability improvement projects, PM development and improvement. - Be highly effective in motivation, organization, time management and decision-making. - Provide on-going coaching, feedback, and development suggestions to improve individual performance. - Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience: Qualifications include: - The ideal candidate will have a minimum electrical inter-provincial trade certificate (Red Seal) and Supervisor Common Core - A minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in a mine/plant production environment including operating/maintenance experience in all areas of the mining activities. This includes 3 or more years of proven supervisory experience. - Will understand and be familiar with Electrical Codes as well as CSA M421-00 codes as pertaining to underground mining electrical installations - Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast paced, team environment - The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. - SAP experience and computer skills an asset Working Conditions: The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a defined rotation schedule (7 on /7 off).
