The City of Port Coquitlam has an excellent opportunity available to join our Finance team as a Project Cost Control Analyst. This full-time position reports to the Manager of Accounting Services and will be responsible for providing advice in the planning, review and analysis of budgets, funding sources, and expenditures for municipal capital projects. Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Coordinates and facilitates capital project submissions as part of the annual capital planning process Monitoring, reviewing, analyzing and controlling capital project expenditures and change orders to ensure projects are completed to scope and within allocated budgets Preparing detailed capital project to budget variance analyses and reporting Participating in the development of a comprehensive capital budget cost control program The successful candidate for this position will have: Bachelor’s degree in, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems or other Finance related degree A recognized professional accounting designation Experience with ERP or financial software (Unit4 Agresso, Oracle, Sage) Experience in data management software or language (SQL, Python, Tableau) Certification and training in business analysis, and/or change management, and/or project management and/or quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma Why should you consider working for us?
