Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As a Designer 2 at Arc’teryx, you design, build, and validate compelling product solutions that are aligned with Arc’teryx design philosophies. You have an opportunity to engage with a global team of athletes and ambassadors to both identify new product needs and validate your design solutions. In collaboration with our Advanced Concepts team, you take part in the creation of new innovative parts, concepts and technology platforms employing the principles of product circularity to evolve the way we create and manufacture products and minimize our environmental footprint in the world.Meet Your Future Team:The Hardgoods and Accessories design team work together on a wide variety of product categories covering packs, accessories, harnesses and gloves to support all of our activity collections. We are builders, problem solvers and passionate outdoor enthusiasts. Fueled by curiosity, we take an immersive approach to identifying future needs then build, test, and validate products that solve for real functional challenges. We are innovative problem solvers with a focus on collaborative teamwork.If you were the Designer for Handwear and Packs now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:Creating innovative handwear and pack concepts to address the needs of our athletes and guestsWorking with Arc’teryx athletes, ambassadors and other industry representatives to generate insights that ensure Arc’teryx product is exceeding our customers evolving needsCollaborating with other designers and activity experts to identify new opportunities in our handwear and pack product rangesPartnering with Design Developers to create patterns, mock ups, and prototypes that explore, resolve, or prove new concepts or construction techniquesWorking closely with ProductDevelopers to document and develop resolved concepts with our factory partnersPresenting at design reviews and seasonal stage gates, annual seasonal handoffs and other product meetingsContributing to the commercialization of innovative technologies, including materials, pattern/part shaping and construction techniquesHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:Working closely with Design leadership and our Merchandising team to craft a strategic plan for Handwear and Packs at Arc’teryxCollaborating with our Advanced Concepts team to integrate new technologies into product conceptsWorking closely with our development teams and innovation partnerships to challenge and evolve the way we bring innovative ideas to production Are you our next Designer for Hardgoods and Accessories? You have a Degree in Design (Industrial or Apparel), or Textile EngineeringYou have 5+ years’ hands-on experience designing accessories or packs and bagsYou have hands-on experience coming up with tools and methods to assist in solving construction issuesYou have technical and creative skills to pattern and prototypeYou have strong planning, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skillsYou are entrepreneurial and innovativeYou have excellent communication skillsYou have excellent time management skillsYou are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutionsYou remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguityYou effectively balance autonomy and collaborationYou inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvementYour passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it$80,000 - $100,000 a yearA reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 at the time of this posting.
