Food and Beverage Server

As a server at The Borough, you will be responsible for providing consistently high-levels of customer service to all restaurant guests by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily features. The server shall perform these customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times and ensure that the guests have an enjoyable dining experience. Other responsibilities will include the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and comply with all restaurant policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Take orders from customers and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute.
  • Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with laid-down standards, but above all in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Clean designated areas, in accordance with daily shift routines and hygiene requirements.
  • Set tables ensuring that all items used are cleaned & polished.
  • Ensure stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, linen or other established needs.
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Up to date PRO-SERVE certificate
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully and professionally at all times.
  • Computer literate, TouchBistro POS system an asset.
  • Professional appearance and manners.

Job Types : Part-time, Permanent Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

Salary : $32,000.00-$42,000.00 per year

Day range:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Food industry setting:

  • Fine dining restaurant

Shift:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

Experience :

  • Bartending: 2 years (preferred)
  • serving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • ProServe (required)

Work Location: In person
