Responsibilities Health & SafetyAssist in fostering a progressive, proactive, health and safety culture.Provide guidance and support to all levels of staff to ensure compliance with Dillon’s HS Management System and provincial occupational health and safety legislationAct as a resource to the Joint Health, and Safety Committee, all regional employees including Managers, Supervisors, and the National HS teamSupport and Coach PMs in the development of project H&S PlansSupport and Coach Supervisors and workers in the execution of project H&S PlansSupport and Coach office H&S RepresentativesPerform worksite audits and inspectionsInvestigate incidents to determine root cause, draft alerts, learnings, and corrective actionsMake recommendations to improve HS practices and conditionsReview hazard and incident reportsParticipate in the development of new HS strategies, objectives, systems, and programsDeliver HS orientation and trainingPresent H&S topics at office and team meetingsDevelope, update, and implement Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) as requiredLiaise with Provincial and Federal HS Regulators as requiredAssist in the tracking and reporting of HS performance and statsContribute to the achievement of local, regional, and national HS priorities and objectivesResearch and identify best practicesProvide ongoing HS communication with internal stakeholdersFrequent travel to project sites and Dillon officesLearning & Development Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to the career development of supporting staff, including technical direction, coaching, and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications Post-secondary education in HS or equivalentCanadian HS designation is preferred (CRSP/T, CSO, NCSO, etc) Experience High commitment to a safety culture3-7 years full-time experience in HS in a large multi-faceted operationEngineering, construction, or consulting experience preferredComprehensive knowledge and interpretation skills of OHS & WCB legislationExperience working in/developing HS Management systems (OHS18001, ISO 45000, QMS)Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications preferred (OHSAS18000, ISO14000 or 45000, COR)Experience working with reporting software and databases (dashboard and report generation)Possessing an in-depth understanding of HS principles and practicesValid First aid and CPR would be beneficialExcellent communication, and presentation skillsProficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite Good problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutionsProven interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, exhibiting diplomacy and tactGood time management skillsAbility to work unsupervised and as a member of a dynamic teamTeam player, self-motivated, proactive thinker, flexible and adaptableAbility to effectively prioritize, meet tight deadlines, and multi-taskAvailable for business travel, as requiredValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordWe are looking for an experienced, creative, dynamic, individual who has a passion for health and safety.Why choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
