General Maintenance Worker

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform building upkeep, repairs, and inspections on a regular basis
  • Perform inventory on repair supplies
  • Keep repair tools and supplies clean and organized
  • Make and install new furniture or equipment
  • General maintenance tasks for building(s) such as window washing, drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting, and more.
  • Detect, identify and repair building issues (i.e. basic issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification/diploma/degree in a related field
  • Proven maintenance experience
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to take apart equipment, machines, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
  • Experience performing routine maintenance
  • Eye for detail
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • Professional presentation and attitude
  • Strong time management

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift up to 100 Ibs
  • Work is preformed indoors and outdoors, in various seasonal weather conditions
  • Preformed through a combination of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and movements in irregular positions

TERM :Full Time, Permanent

STARTING SALARY : $23.23 per hour
