Position Summary

BCIT’s in-house Auxiliary Support Services is looking for high caliber individuals to join our team for a variety of temporary administrative assignments. Auxiliaries provide support where employees are absent from the job due to sick leave, vacation, on training courses or to assist on projects or with heavy workloads at any of our campuses. Due to the varying demand for services, there may be breaks between assignments; we therefore cannot guarantee ongoing employment.

This competition is on-going with opportunities for part-time or full-time hours of work. Duties & Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include front-line customer service and clerical work including data entry and general or senior administrative support. Serving our workforce at our various campuses, placement may vary from one day to several months in duration. Work assignments vary in complexity and initiative, and all offer a variety in terms of challenge and value. Some roles are extremely challenging while others are busy, but routine in nature. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of six months post-secondary education in addition to formal training in a business/office program, including Microsoft Office package.
  • Minimum two to three years of general administrative experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Formal training and experience using email systems and Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
  • Banner and Cognos experience is an asset.
  • Desire to remain current with business office systems.
  • Keyboarding skills of 55 wpm.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented with an emphasis on excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Flexibility and ability to be called in on short-notice and work at various campus locations.
