  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic test
  • Identify worn and damaged parts, clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Install component and part upgrades and control corrosion
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems
  • Adjust and align bearing loads, gear tooth contact, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches traction units
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
