Their primary focus is performing tasks and responsibilities related to processing hourly unionized payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Ability to work with unions, interpret and update wage schedules, burden tables, and monthly union reconciliationAccurate and timely end to end processing of payrolls and payments via direct deposit; including new employee set up, handling terminations with ROEs using HRDC WebROERespond to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholdersMonthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial items like WSIB/WCB, EHTAnnual preparation of T4, RL1, T2200COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSCommunicates EffectivelyAbility to cope under pressure and maintain focus, dealing effectively with setbacks while remaining positiveTeamwork and Collaboration, with ability to work independently under limited supervisionDemonstrated attention to detail and accuracyMaximizes Business Performance and Team EffectivenessEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSCompleted PCP designation with NPI3+ years of work experience in PayrollSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSKnowledge and understanding of:Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environmentUnionized construction experience an assetJD Edwards or ERP system in-house an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel –including vlookup, pivot tables etc)Black & McDonald welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
