DescriptionA H2S Safety Supervisor’s main responsibility is to ensure that workers in hazardous or dangerous areas are provided with the necessary service and equipment required to maintain a safe work environment. Duties/Responsibilities Participate in and conduct safety meetings with workers and clients on location Setup breathing air/portable gas detection equipment as per HSE training and client needs Provide site specific orientations on emergency procedures and location of safety equipment and muster areas with new workers coming on location Operate company vehicles in accordance to HSE policy, highway traffic laws and per the standards on privately owned roads Participate in ERP/Man down drills with client and workers Provide on the job training to workers on proper use of breathing air equipment and gas detection equipment Perform bump tests, function tests and maintain all of HSE Integrated equipment on a daily basis Keep an accurate head count of all personnel on location Communicate with client representative on day-to-day operation Ensure that work areas under employee’s responsibility appear professional and are in good repair Maintain a professional relationship with all personnel in the work area Ensure that all pertinent paperwork is completed in a timely manner Report and communicate regularly to Operations Coordinators regarding critical changes that may directly affect dispatch May be required to attend jobs which are live on location Must be willing to perform other duties, if required. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years in the field Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Experience in maneuvering (towing / backing up) of trailers of various lengths Possess a fundamental understanding of drilling, service and completion environments and a great working knowledge of associated processes Experience running breathing air systems Physically capable of performing the following tasks: Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs Working in small / confined spaces Lifting up to 50lbs Pushing / pulling (tools / objects) Sitting / driving Bending / kneeling / crouching Standing / walking for long periods of time Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow) Must be willing to work day / night shift as required Potential shift lengths 10 – 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requirements demand longer shifts or schedule changes Required Certifications & Training H2S Alive Standard 1st - Aid / CPR Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated. Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Energy Safety Canada common Safety Orientation (CSO) Fall Protection Fire Extinguisher Level I & II Confined Space Entry Monitoring Firewatch Experience setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level *Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.
