: As a member of the facility's QA team, the QA Assistant monitors and analyzes data related to the Hatchery Sanitation Monitoring Report through Swabing and other Quality Assurance program requirements to ensure they are consistently achieved. The Assistant is responsible for reviewing escalated proposed corrective actions and providing additional guidance and support as required. While operating in a fast paste manufacturing environment, the Assistant must be comfortable analyzing large amounts of data and making recommendations to Production and QA leadership based on findings.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in the HACCP program and recommend corrective actions for deviations.
  • Provide support and coaching to employees and production management to maintain and improve facility QA practices and procedures.
  • Sanitation monitoring: microbiology sampling, plate reading, reporting Chemical testing.
  • Incubator egg temperatures
  • Breakout & Candling procedures, scheduling and reporting
  • Coordinate Moisture loss/chick yield testing
  • Chick quality checks
  • Fluff sampling
  • Assist in the implementation of changes that advance QA systems and/or programs.
  • Back up to QA supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Must understand and follow all HACCP/Biosecurity procedures
  • Must understand and follow current regulatory requirements associated with hatchery
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Computer experience
  • Able to work in hot environment
  • Able to work on ladders
  • Able to lift up to 15 kgs
  • Proven team player
  • Understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s.
  • Intermediate systems skills (including MS Office).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Interest and willingness to learn and teach others.
