Cashier

Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Part-Time Cashier to join our team. The shifts are between Monday - Saturday, 20-30 hours per week. The wage range is $19.75 - $21.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
• Greet and assist customers with purchases
• Process all point of sale, returns and payment on account transactions at the cashier counter in an efficient, accurate and friendly manner
• Answering phones
• Maintain product displays on selling floor in immediate area
• Provide suggestions and recommendations on products and materials
• General housekeeping duties including cleaning displays and sanitizing high touch areas and carts
• Disinfect and clean counter tops, phones and keyboards
• Disinfecting and putting away returns
• Cover reception as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements :

• Previous cashier experience is an asset

• Attention to detail

• Superior customer service skills

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment during peak periods

• Ability to work independently and as team

• Available to work flexible hours including weekends

• Physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs

• Standing for long periods of time

• A positive can do attitude is essential!
