Bookkeeper

We are a mid-sized well established general contractor looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic individual to help us manage our books. In this position you will be responsible for managing the books, keeping us and our vendors accountable (A/R, A/P), cost control measures, and regular reporting on the overall financial position of the company in a fast-paced yet comfortable family-style environment. Responsibilities :

  • Ensure accuracy in the general ledger
  • GJ postings
  • Provide regular financial reports (monthly & yearly)
  • Manage both accounts receivable and payable
  • Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts, and other financial dealings of the company
  • Keep up to date with applicable legislation

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, accounting or adjacent field
  • 3 years of experience is preferred, general contracting experience is a definite asset
  • Knowledge of construction management software (Jonas) is an asset
  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel experience (Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Word experience.

Salary : $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • New Hamburg, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience :

  • general contracting: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
