Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, this role focuses on educating team members on inventory ERP processes, help with the supporting planning and preparing of physical counts, and supporting, guiding, and training team members on all inventory management and control initiatives. This position requires contributing to the development of internal processes that enhance structure, accuracy, and standardization in inventory controls.This position is based out of Stayner, OntarioWhat you’ll be doing:Team Leadership:Responsible for training all inventory control processes and ERP functions to various members of the Ops Team.Provide daily operational guidance to the Inventory Control Team assisting with inventory reconciliations and discrepancy investigationsDevelop a cross-training matrix to support departmental needs and ensure proper coverage for team membersProcess Management and Improvement:Support and help with the development of and implementation of inventory best practices within the inventory management ERP system (SAP).Work closely with the Technical Writer to review and update SOPs and work instructions as required to reflect changes in the businessEnsure accurate inventory levels for all materials through SAP and MRP, supported by a robust cycle count programReview inventory accuracy and SAP system health checks monthly leading up to a year-end physical count, implementing corrective action plans for any discrepancies or deficienciesProject Management:Support inventory-related projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives ensuring cross functional collaboration with multiple business unitsReporting and Compliance:Report on inventory activities and variances daily, weekly, and monthly to all business levels, including senior managementEnsure all Health Canada and CRA monthly reports are completed accurately and on timeSupport the Inventory Control Manager in interactions with internal and external auditors concerning Inventory Controls protocols, including understanding Health Canada cannabis regulationsCollaboration and Communication:Participate in daily operational meetings, providing guidance on current departmental activitiesWork closely with the Inventory Control Manager on health and safety requirements, employee training and development, and policy and procedure implementationCollaborate with other departments, such as Supply Chain, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance and Internal Audit for all inventory related issues and processes and initiativesOn-the-Floor Support:Be visible on the floor to support critical decisions and provide directionShow flexibility in supporting different functions and duties within the Inventory Control departmentConduct regular process audits ensuring SOPs and Work Instructions are being followedAssist with the preparation of and provide guidance to team members for all year-end inventory auditsPerform other duties as assignedYour Environment: (for production specific roles only)Must be able to support overtime as neededWorking weekends and holidays as neededWalking, sitting, standing required consistentlyCrouching, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and counting are required You’ll need to have:Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred6-8 years of experience in inventory management, process development and project managementStrong leadership skills with a minimum of 3-5 years with experience in training and developing team membersStrong understanding and hands-on experience with ERP systems.
