Position Overview
The Township of St. Clair is seeking an individual for a Public Works/GIS Technician position within the Public Works Department.
Salary Range: $31.71 - $38.12/hr., based on a 35-hour work week. Union: This position is represented by OPSEU Local 123.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Coordinator, Engineering, this position assists the Public Works Department with asset management, records management, maintenance management and GIS; preparation and administration of technical studies and reports; review and action utility locate requests; asset and condition assessment inventory; and assist with operations capital projects.
Qualifications
Required qualifications and experience will include a college diploma in Civil Engineering or GIS, and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Related experience in a municipal public works environment would be considered an asset. Demonstrated competency in CAD, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Database, Outlook), and excellent verbal and written communication.
