Rpn for Medical Dermatology Practice

Derma Skin Institute is looking for a dynamic RPN join our medical Dermatology practice to complete medical tasks, minor procedures, medical scribing, patient education, product sales, and related administrative tasks.

Qualifications :

• Registered Practical Nursing Diploma
• Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification

• Phlebotomy (blood draws)
• Proficient at administering medical injections (ex. Kenalog, anesthetic)
• Proficient at instructing patients about Dermatologist-recommended procedures and products for skin health and wellness
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Strong communication skills (oral & written)
• Strong computer skills for use with electronic medical records.
• Strong typing skills for medical scribing

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Document patient-physician interaction in patient chart during patient encounter
• Use appropriate assessment skills to prepare the patient for the doctor.
• Set-up for any procedures that the doctors will be performing
• Prepare and/or administer injections for medical procedures
• Assist physician with medical examinations and procedures as required.
• Perform medical procedures as trained by the dermatologist
• Instruct and educate patients on Dermatologist-recommended procedures
• Logging and securing lab specimens, swabs etc. to the designated lab pick-up area
• Triage patient calls for medical office assistants or provide advice regarding medical treatment directly to patients
• Demonstrating injection of biologic medications and patient education on biologic medications
