Youth must meet the following criteria:Must be between the ages of 16 and 30, at the time of their start of employment at Archway.Must be a Canadian citizen, immigrant with permanent residency status, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.NOTE: International students are ineligible for this program.The Canada Summer Jobs program objectives are to:provide quality experiences for youth;respond to national and local priorities to improve access to the labour market for youth who face unique barriers to employment, , youth who are early leavers of high school, not in employment, education or training; Black and other racialized youth; youth with disabilities; Indigenous youth; 2SLGBTQ+ youth, andprovide opportunities for youth to develop and improve their skills.Job Summary:The CSJ Group Facilitator will report to the Supervisor, Foundry, and will work with the Youth and Family Engagement Coordinator to organize, facilitate, and deliver health and wellness activities for youth ages 12 to 24 who have mental health disabilities. Activities will be offered in person and virtually. In addition, the CSJ Group Facilitator will promote the Foundry by building relationships with individuals and businesses in the community.Your Role:Archway’s CSJ Group Facilitator with the Foundry Abbotsford contributes by:Co-facilitating health and wellness groups for youth 12 to 24 years old, together with Peer Support Workers and external presenters.Engaging youth and planning activities based on what they have communicated as their passion and interests.Ensuring safety protocols are communicated to in-person group participants and providing any required safety supplies and PPE.Scheduling health and wellness activities that are tailored to participants.Planning and coordinating transportation for community outings for youth.Promoting groups through social media, service providers, and community networking.Planning and ensuring supplies and space are ready for group activities.This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with youth, who has great interpersonal and communication skills, and enjoys facilitating health and wellness activities.Our OfferWage: $ per hour.A full-time position at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.Temporary for 8 weeks, starting in June 2024.Benefits include:Great in-house training opportunities.Build your experience in the field of health and wellness.Rewarding work in a positive environment.Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is an asset.Experience working with youth, or a combination of education and experience is an asset.Experience in coordination is an asset.Experience working with youth with mental health challenges is an asset.The Job Requires you to have::A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.Good relationship building skills; able to build rapport and work with youth.Ability to develop crisis management skills and able to work effectively during a crisis.Good organizational, planning, and time management skills.Skills in facilitating and communicating and presenting information to a variety of audiences in a clear, concise, and effective way.Strong verbal, written communication skills and active listening skills; able to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.Ability to use virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.Ability to use various social media platforms.Ability to drive for program-related work; a personal vehicle in good working order is required.Ability to interact with difficult people which may occur.Flexible work hours including evening work is required.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.Ability for social interaction and engagement, requiring adherence to health and safety protocols.​​​Eligibility to meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements of being between 16 to 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are not eligible participants, including anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
