Leis Pet Distributing is a privately owned company with a warehouse and office located in Wellesley, Ontario. As a full-line distributor of pet food and accessories, we deliver to a network of over 800 independent Retail Pet Food Stores throughout central and south-western Ontario, northern and eastern Ontario, and in the Maritime Provinces. We recently celebrated our 28th year in business.

We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Maintenance and Warehouse Material Handler to support the Operations team.

Location: 1315 Hutchison Road, Wellesley, ON

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 3:00 pm. Ability to occasionally alter schedule when required, some overtime during peak season.

A Snapshot of the job: This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for:

• General maintenance and daily upkeep of the warehouse facility as well as the surrounding property including grass mowing, de-icing, snow removal, floor polishing, cardboard compacting, light bulb changes, battery maintenance for forklifts and walkies
• Maintain warehouse racking - replace damaged pieces, setup new racking, move around existing racking using power tools
• Change garbage receptacles and collect recycling
• Put together office furniture, setup new office spaces
• Pick up supplies from hardware store as needed
• Physical move of products from one location to another
• Repacking of product into bulk bags using a hopper
• Picking and filling orders from stock using handheld scanners
• Packing and shipping orders
• Picking orders in the freezer
• Performing inventory counts
• Operate forklift/walkie
• Other duties and projects as assigned

What you will bring:

• 1 -3 years of warehouse experience
• High School diploma preferred
• Experience with operating forklifts (experience with reach trucks a strong asset)
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Mechanical inclination and experience with power tools and assembly
• Ability to perform physical duties such as snow shoveling, grass cutting
• Strong team-player with a great sense of humour
• Willingness to work overtime when required to ensure our customers’ needs are met
• Willing to cross-train in many areas in order to be a back up and help where needed
• Able to lift 50 lbs
