Planner, Production Schedule

Receive, prepare, and attribute the shop orders based on work package contents and build strategies Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for critical spaces that aligns with the project requirements and build sequence Apply Primavera project planning tool to develop and maintain detail shop order schedules in accordance with specific work breakdown structures Ensure alignment between Primavera P6 schedules and shop order dates in MRP System (IFS) at the detail planning level 5 & 6 Coordinate with Area Managers and Trade Supervisors to keep the detail schedules for critical areas and systems updated in P6 and MRP system (IFS) Liaise with various key collaborators within production and participates in production team meetings providing feedback and information whenever vital. Liaise with Design and Engineering teams to provide forward looking view of Production Activities to assist with prioritization of technical deliverables Liaise with key subcontract partners to integrate their detail schedule with the shipyard trade schedules Act as the link between the Stage of Construction (SOC) based Production Control Technologist and Baseline/Change Planners Investigate schedule issues and delays in production and assist in mitigation Perform additional duties as assigned What you must have: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Trades Certificate combined with sufficient employment experience is highly desirable 2 - 4 years planning/scheduling experience in a large manufacturing/heavy industry environment, preferably in the shipbuilding industry Certification by an accredited society in Planning, Production Control and/or Project Management is desirable Experience using an ERP system in a large manufacturing environment Understanding of shipbuilding operations and relationship between planning, procurement, design, and production. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and demonstrated inventory and material management experience is a distinct advantage Ability to function as a team member and liaise effectively with various functions Ability to effectively plan and allocate resources, such as manpower, equipment, and materials, to support the production schedule. Experience working with production control systems to track and monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions Working knowledge of CAD software suite and document control systems and databases (Ship Constructor and AutoCAD preferred) Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and planning systems (Primavera and MS Project preferred). Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and change direction when required Salary/Rate Range: $39.00 - $48.00 per hour
