Safety Officer, Flight Operations

Job Description As Safety Officer, you are responsible for conducting safety investigations relating to the incidents occurring within your area of responsibility and for documenting the associated files in the safety database, in accordance with the Quality Safety Action Program (QSAP). You will be conducting investigations under the supervision of the Director, Flight Safety. Main responsibilities: Support the Corporate Quality and Safety Policy and ensure it is promoted within your functional area of responsibility; Master the content of the Quality Safety Management System (QSMS) Policies and Procedures Manual as well as its processes, especially those pertaining to your role; Actively participate in all Flight Safety Department meetings as well as the monthly Quality and Safety Management Committee (QSMC) meetings; Receive and analyze safety reports, including data entry into the database, incident investigation, risk assessment, root cause determination and appropriate follow-up action; Ensure appropriate follow up with employees having reported safety or security incidents, including the results of event analyses and actions taken; Ensure a communication link between the Safety Department and employees within your functional area of responsibility; Prepare and distribute safety information bulletins to the employees within your functional area of responsibility; Assists the Manager, Safety Investigation and the Director, Flight Safety as necessary. Qualifications College or University Diploma or equivalent in a related field; At least five years of experience in the aviation industry; Knowledge of ISAGO and IOSA is an asset; Oral and written proficiency in both French and English; Computer proficiency: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, AIMS, safety database; Strong communication skills; Autonomous and analytic.
