Operations Director, Surgery and Ambulatory Care | (RF180)

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Director(s), Clinical Services Delivery, the Operations Director, is responsible for overseeing the operations of perioperative and ambulatory care at the assigned acute facility. This includes all aspects of daily operations as well as planning, implementing, and organizing of initiatives in the surgical and ambulatory programs. In collaboration with the Director(s), Medical Directors, Operational Managers and other stakeholders, the Operations Director, provides ongoing leadership in the development and implementation of current and new projects within the programs. This position ensures critical linkages with all levels of staff within the applicable acute care facilities and liaises with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate. The Operations Director provides leadership and support to Operational Managers inclusive of staffing and service planning, financial oversight, project coordination, PCQO oversight and quality improvement initiatives. This position acts as the designate in place for the Director(s), Clinical Services Delivery, when required. The Operations Director plays a key role in the development and implementation of the program goals and objectives, through leadership in project management and knowledge of system performance, using collaborative leadership to support the management team.
