Through our wholly owned subsidiary, Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (“PCT”), we operate a state-of-the-art deep sea tidewater terminal located on the Burrard Inlet in Port Moody, BC. We provide world-class tidewater terminal handling solutions for bulk commodity exporters of Sulphur, Potash, Ethylene glycol, and Canola oil.

THE OPPORTUNITY : Responsibilities and Results :

  • Shared responsibility for the management of the daily operational aspects of the Company related to the handling of the Terminal’s bulk commodities, including the operational aspects of labour relations and the direct supervision of longshore and forepersons.
  • On a one-week rotating on-call cycle, shares the responsibility with other Managers as the Duty Manager, and assumes the primary supervision role of the terminal on a 24-hour basis.
  • Responsible for ensuring Terminal operations objectives and metrics are achieved in support of growth, EBITDA performance, and customer relations.
  • Shares responsibility for ensuring all personnel are aware of and compliant with all regulations, policies, procedures and standards, and that due diligence is maintained.

Key Actions :

  • Ensures daily, tactical operations communication with internal and external stakeholders is maintained, and operational activities are appropriately planned and resourced.
  • Shared responsibility to ensure daily plans and schedules are completed to facilitate all Terminal needs and are in line with terminal services agreements.
  • Responsible for the coordination of activities between the Operations and Maintenance Departments.
  • Participates in the development of operating plans and budgets, labour relations strategies, capital projects, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Administers the Local 500 and 514 collective agreements in accordance with Terminal’s operational needs, while maintaining and enforcing management rights.
  • Monitors operational performance to ensure KPI’s and objectives for the Terminal are met. Responsible for the performance of unionized operations crews.
  • Plays a key role in the recruitment, development, and training of operations staff and forepersons.
  • Supports the Manager's safety to ensure that the Company’s Health and Safety Program and the comprehensive Site Contingency Plan are understood and followed in the event of an incident.

Education and Credentials :

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma preferred, with additional business programs or MBA.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operations or maintenance, preferably within a relevant or comparable industry or on-site experience.

Pay: $125,000.00-$155,000.00 per year
