Owner Operator Delivery Driver

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE : Micco Companies is a family owned holding company with a diverse operating portfolio that includes Retail Beverage Alcohol, Real Estate, Warehousing, Courier, and Logistics. We are looking for Owner Operator Delivery Drivers to meet the needs of our growing business. Community Courier (a MICCO company) is a local same day delivery service company. Our Owner Operator Delivery Drivers are the face of Community Courier and are responsible for the safe and efficient transport of products direct to our consumers’ homes and businesses throughout the HRM.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Is aware of, and complies with standard Operating Procedures
• Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products direct to our customers’ homes and businesses
• All deliveries must follow social responsibility and are required to ID customers.
• Responsible for loading each day’s set of deliveries into vehicle as well as unloading product at each stop on your daily route.
• Act as a representative of the products and the Company to all customers in a positive and professional manner.
• Maintains a high level of communication with the Dispatch and Supervisor
• Reports any problems, delays, or customer concerns immediately to the Dispatcher and/or Supervisor
• Take pride in the overall image that the vehicle, and driver convey to our customers and the public.

OTHER INFORMATION :

• Flexible schedule available; Schedules and routes run Monday to Sunday including evening and weekend work. We will work with you to find a flexible schedule that works for you and our customers.
• Delivery hours are determined based on order volumes.
• Must be comfortable driving in rural and urban areas

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must have own reliable vehicle (car, van, SUV etc.)
• Must hold a valid license with a clean driving record (zero tolerance for alcohol-related infractions)
• Must have a clean criminal Records Check
• Must be comfortable moving heavy objects, minimum of 35-50 lbs
• A detail-oriented, sincere, and responsible person with strong organizational skills.
• Must be friendly and courteous towards all customers and co-workers.
• Proof of Insurance ($2,000,000 Liability)
• Vehicle registration
• Valid vehicle safety inspection
• Willing to enter into a service agreement

Salary : $15.00-$25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bedford, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience :

• delivery driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Drivers License (required)
