Our Que Pasa Foods facility, located in Delta, is expanding and is looking for Packaging Associates to join our amazing team. Both permanent fulltime or temporary fulltime positions available. A Packaging Associate performs a variety of tasks ranging from collecting, packing, palletizing, cleaning and any other duty as required all according to all our safety and quality procedures. Reliability and regular attendance are paramount.

Schedule

  • Day shift: 06:20 AM - 18:30 PM
  • Evening shift: 18:20 PM - 06:30 AM with $3.00 night premium
  • Must be available to work any day in a week including the weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation due to limited bus routes on the weekends

Duties & Responsibilitie

  • Performs manual lifting, stacking, loading and unloading (35 lbs)
  • Able to move 35 lb baskets up to 45 times an hour on a rotational basis
  • Able to stand on feet up to 12 hours per day
  • Able to work in a warm conditions
  • Assists in the direct handling of products
  • Labels and packages products
  • Builds cardboard boxes and trays
  • Participates in the setup, take down and sanitation of all parts and equipment, as required
  • Works with and in close proximity to sanitizing chemicals
  • Maintains a very clean and organized work area
  • Ensures compliance with our health and safety regulations to maintain a hazard-free environment
  • Performs other assigned duties

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Preferred 1-2 years in food manufacturing experience
  • Has the ability to read, speak and understand English work directions
  • Has a positive attitude with a team player mindset
  • Demonstrates performance driven to meet target outputs and deadlines
  • Hard working, reliable independent and self-motivated
  • Has the ability to work efficiently and in a high-paced environment
  • Maintains excellent attendance record
  • Non-slip shoes or steel toe shoes are required
