Position Overview : Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager, Production is an essential leader within our demanding production organization. Working with the production supervisory team, this highly motivated individual will be responsible to ensure a high degree of coordination and focus.

What You Will Do :

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of Production Supervisors and their departments
  • Monitor and manage the Production organization to ensure that the organization meets the objectives of the production schedule, cost and quality of the product to the customer
  • Lead the development of new and innovative reporting tools that will allow the organization to better identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvements
  • Develop Capacity Plans, ensuring that we balance the capacity the operation with the workload demands of the customer
  • Lead cross-functional teams to manage continuous flow manufacturing and pull systems, 5S improvements
  • Foster a positive employee relation's climate that will encourage buy-in, teamwork and participation by employees across the organization
  • Ensure all personnel from the shop floor to front-line leadership have the required knowledge and skills to employ Lean methodologies on an ongoing basis
  • Support the overall business objectives of the organization
  • Prepare and monitor operations budgets and working with the production team to ensure costs meet or beat budget
  • Ensure that Health & Safety programs are implemented in a manner that safeguards the well-being of staff and promotes promp responses to Health & Safety concerns

What You Will Bring :

  • A four-year degree or technologist accreditation, preferably in engineering or another technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of experience and relevant education
  • 5 years of Operations or Production Management experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with ERP system (JD. Edwards Preferred) work to ensure that the capacity plan supports the workload and is balanced and achievable
  • Must possess advanced computer skills including MS Office and Microsoft Project, Power BI reporting and have strong analytical to interpret results
  • Excellent communication, delegation, problem solving, multi-tasking and team building skills
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate and gain employee commitment to achieve results
  • Strong knowledge of JIT/Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma and Change Management
  • Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program
