Work Shift: Day Shift (Canada)

Job Description : This Associate Supervisor, Electrical is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day workflow and production for their assigned staff and location. They will lead by example, consistently enforce safety policies, and address all raised or observed safety concerns with the Resource Manager and other Supervisors. The Associate Supervisor, Electrical is also responsible for supporting the implementation, and ongoing practice, of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement activities throughout their department and the overall plant.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with the Resource Manager to understand production schedules and to drive Lean manufacturing throughout the total fabrication process.
  • Conduct periodic audits to assure order accuracy and overall quality of finished product.
  • Ensure all direct reports are trained to a competency level that ensures products meet quality standards, and reference and update the training matrix when required. Identify and report training needs of direct reports.
  • Follow and execute weekly schedules driven by production demands.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Assemblers and Technicians, and apprentices.
  • Supervise and coordinate direct reports to ensure production efficiencies are maximized through the effective use of equipment and personnel, and prioritize tasks to meet deliverables.
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety and ensure the cleanliness of the plant.
  • Assist with interviewing, selection, training, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Plan, schedule and prioritize Work Orders and or Job Order assignments to appropriate Electrical Personnel as directed by workflow.
  • Act as communication link between Resource Manager - Electrical and Team Members by routinely holding departmental meetings with all direct reports.
  • Constantly communicate with Resource Manager - Electrical, other Supervisors, and department leaders to discuss production/quality issues and sharing of resources to maintain smooth production flow.
  • Act as the first level of interaction for employee behavioral or performance issues/reviews and escalate to the Resource Manager - Electrical and/or Human Resources when required.
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical materials in warehouse.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and/or employee personal information.
  • Hands-on Supervisor completing Work Orders and Job Order assignments.
  • Perform production related duties as required to fill in for absences/callouts and other duties as assigned.
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, tools and terminology of the electrical trade and complicated electrical wiring.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, Work Orders, and job orders.
  • Troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with lots of change.
  • Circuit design or modification and parts changes including creating PCN, ECRs.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed above, employees are also expected to complete other duties as required. Dependent on business needs, percent of work may change as needed.   • Education_
  • Post-secondary education preferably in related field.
  • Current Electrician License 309A or 422A preferred.
  • Master’s License an asset.
  • Experience with material handling equipment.
  • Special requirement: possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for occasional business travel between company plants and on-site client locations.
  • 3-7 years electrical experience within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience mentoring and/or supervising peers.
  • Ability to read specifications and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships with peers through strong communication and listening abilities, and negotiation techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required, and an ERP system (p
