Quality Manager Woodstock , ON Full Time - Permanent $115-$120K year *Steel manufacturing environment* Perks: Bi-annual Bonus Program Extended Health Care and Dental coverage Extensive Paramedical and 15K annually towards Mental Health Benefits Basic Life, Critical Illness, AD&D, STD coverage RRSP program with matching component Job description: Responsible for the day-to-day quality system of the  facility Ensure that the quality, capability and performance targets of both the product and manufacturing processes are met. Responsible to increase product quality, through the continuous improvement of processes. Provide and use quality and technical knowledge and skills to support other business processes. Understand the long-term mission and objectives of the organization and ensure alignment of the Quality Department Take a leadership role to develop and mentor Quality department as individuals or as a group through the execution of work projects. Responsibilities:  Responsible to increase product quality through the continuous improvement process and work practices Ensure that the quality, capability and performance targets of both the product and manufacturing processes are met Advise and coach the management team in interpreting policies and legislation as required Understand the long-term mission and objectives of the organization and ensure alignment of the quality department Budget and maintain purchasing control for the quality department Own and manage the capability and performance of the quality, facilities and equipment at Woodstock through upgrades, continuous improvements, new installations and maintenance. Contribute to long term planning by proactive planning of quality processes and equipment to ensure appropriate capability and continued competitive advantage. Ensure support in long term strategic goals by constantly searching out improvement opportunities and develop and implement effective business unit tactics to achieve long term plant and corporate goals. Ensure the identification and containment of all non-conforming product produced by the Canadian Facilities Lead and Maintain the Workshops Support launch management for the parts/processes via ECN, PCN etc. PPAP readiness of all components and end item finished goods Lead root cause workshops through to corrective actions implementation Conduct Quality training throughout the organization as required Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems. Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
