Position OverviewReporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, this position will be responsible for daily general maintenance upkeep such as the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure a safe, efficient and comfortable environment for building occupants. Additionally, this position will perform system checks to keep the ammonia refrigeration equipment in good repair and temperatures at their ideal settings. Schedule: 8:00AM - 4:00 PM Monday to Friday On Call/ Weekend Availability depending on business needsWhat We Offer:Performance incentives available after 3 monthsMedical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EAP Benefits after 30 days of employmentFULL flex benefits programSteel toe boot reimbursementCompany matching RRSPProfit Sharing125-year, family-owned and operated company historyFamily culture and advancement opportunitiesDuties and ResponsibilitiesPerforming scheduled/unscheduled testing and maintenance on batteriesConducting general preventative maintenance of facility systems, refrigeration equipment, material handling equipment, racking, dock equipment, building automation systems, plumbing systems, and paintingMonitoring temperature readings on refrigeration equipment, defrost setups, alarm monitoring, maintaining documentation and operations of the ammonia plant facility Entering data into work order systems (Maximo) in a timely mannerMaintaining a safe facility in meeting all Provincial and local guidelinesAssisting to ensure occupational health and safety and regulatory compliance and working with contractors as requiredCollaborates with Risk Manager to develop written Process Safety Manual (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RPM) programsRequired Skills and QualificationsCertification or License Refrigeration Plant Operator (2nd Class)HAZMAT certification preferred.Experience in diagnosing and repairing technical and facility equipmentExperience in operating hand and power tools in a safe and efficient mannerAbility to lift, move and carry heavy objectsAbility to work independently and be self-motivatedA strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilitiesProficient computer skills and good problem solving skillsMust be able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.'Must have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and to solve practical and technical problemsA team player with good communication skills and the ability to supervise contractorA strong background in facility preventative maintenance would be an assetOther professional certificates and schooling would be an asset (Electrical, Millwork or Welding)Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, racking, carpentry, welding and hydraulics is an asset#GFSCA
