Human Resources Generalist (Maternity Leave Contract)**

JOB TASKS :

  • Works with managers to ensure recruiting needs are met
  • Coordination of foreign worker programs
  • Coordinates recruiting and selection process; prepares internal and external job ads, administers and scores pre-employment tests, schedules interviews, checks references
  • Administers Scholarship and Student Assistance Loan programs
  • Participates in updating and maintaining online Employee Handbook
  • Updates online Position Descriptions
  • Administers all hourly and salary employee performance reviews
  • Participates in Employee Appreciation Day committee
  • Provides back-up and support to other members of the Human Resources team as required
  • Monthly performance and recruitment reporting

COMPETENCIES :

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented
  • Must be able to work independently and take initiative
  • Confident and comfortable interacting with all levels of management and employees
  • Proven commitment to maintaining strict standards of confidentiality

REQUIRMENTS :

  • Post-secondary business administration diploma or degree

PREFFERED :

  • Three (3) years’ experience working in a recruiting role
  • Diploma or degree in a Human Resources Management program
  • CHRP Designation
