What we are hiring for : LCDS is looking for a temporary full-time Marketing and Communications Assistant to support the creation of marketing and communication information in alignment with LCDS' vision and mission. Promoting the LCDS brand is central to this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Gathering and prepping the Focus newsletter
  • Collecting/drafting social media information
  • Obtaining photo consents as needed
  • Stories/photos of support workers in action, and crafting short articles to go with (for Focus and social media)
  • Capturing photos and information for employee spotlights
  • Capturing photos at all LCDS events - spotlighting volunteers
  • Creates and develops high-quality social media and print content in line with LCDS' vision, mission and branding
  • Attends and promotes agency events
  • Encourages others to promote LCDS activities online and raises awareness of LCDS Supports the Fundraising and Event Coordinator, preparing posters or preparing for fundraising events

Qualifications :

  • Student or graduate of 2 - 3 year post-secondary diploma or degree in related field preferred (i.e., Communications, Journalism, Public Relations)
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Current, valid "G" or higher Ontario Driver's License

Compensation and scheduling :

  • $20.82 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
  • Contract until approx. September 14, 2024
