Work Term: Temporary Work Language: English or French Hours: 35 to 37 hours per week Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience Work setting Public or community health centre School or educational institution/establishment Tasks Conduct audiometric tests and examinations Conduct speech-language tests and examinations Develop new audiometric tests and examinations Diagnose and evaluate speech, voice, resonance, language, cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders Follow up with patients to ensure assigned remedial programs are correctly followed and completed Instruct technicians and students Supervise technical and support staff Conduct research on speech and other communication disorders and on the development and design of diagnostic procedures and devices Develop, plan and implement remedial programs to correct speech, voice, language, resonance, cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders Establish group and personalized care plans working as a member of an interdisciplinary team Provide advice and educational services to patients and families regarding communication and swallowing disorders Conduct research related to hearing and hearing disorders Diagnose the degree and type of hearing impairment Establish personalized care plans working as a member of an interdisciplinary team Plan and implement habilitation/rehabilitation programs Provide information to patients and families regarding the nature, extent, impact and implications of hearing loss and treatment Supervision 1 to 2 people Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses  Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Certification Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities Communication systems experience Total communication Cued speech auditory Oral techniques Alternate or augmentative communication FM system Specialization or experience Specialized environmental skills and knowledge Transportation/travel information Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Work under pressure Large caseload Personal suitability Accurate Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Flexibility Interpersonal awareness Judgement Screening questions Are you available for shift or on-call work?
