Production Supervisor

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading one or several departments on the production line in meeting their daily production objectives. This position is accountable for ensuring the assigned production work schedule is completed on time, within budget and as per Northplex’s standards.

Position Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and review a production plan, in alignment with immediate manager production/business plan, to meet requirements. This includes delivering agreed results.
  • Execute the weekly assigned production schedule. Deploy the appropriate resources to meet the work requirements in coordination with the production schedule.
  • Responsible to ensure daily production stay on track meeting budget, timelines, labour, and materials projections
  • Establish team priorities to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Understand and adhere to budget for functional area
  • Help ensure that all production supplies are ordered on a timely and cost effective basis, and adequate inventory supplies are maintained
  • Promote and cultivate quality consciousness; ensure that construction is performed according to applicable codes and regulations. Ensure finishes meet or exceed industry standards at construction and completion stage
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and within Northplex’s policies, procedures, and standards
  • Think critically about the business and focus for continuous development. Liase with fellow supervisors, managers, and human resources on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide managerial leadership and direction to staff and promote positive morale. This includes ensuring appropriate delegation, coaching, providing constructive feedback, holding them accountable for producing agreed deliverables, and supporting direct reports in using judgment and initiative in doing work. This includes building bench strength.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and facilitating the development of high performance teams; Foster development and growth in staff and encourage cross training to meet work assignment requirements; managing human resources and providing clarity of staff work assignments.

Position Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry
  • Previous supervisory and leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Ability to read and follow detail orientated blueprints, drawings, and written specifications
  • A proven commitment to a positive safety culture
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross functionally within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong degree of integrity and judgment
  • Willing to take ownership for the outcomes within scope of responsibility
  • Strong planning, coordination, execution and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
