Robert Half is currently seeking an adaptable and detail-oriented Scheduler/Transportation Coordinator to join our clients team in a contract-to-permanent capacity. In this role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating transportation services for seniors within a large rural area. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with change, possess excellent organizational skills, work well under pressure, and have a compassionate approach when dealing with seniors.Key Responsibilities:Scheduling:Coordinate and schedule a team of 7 staff drivers, including casual staff.Manage a fleet of organization-owned vehicles and schedule 20 volunteer drivers.Handle scheduling for elderly clients who call in with transportation requests, with a priority on medical appointments.Drive Coordination:Organize an average of 40 one-way drives daily, accommodating various client needs.Manage last-minute requests, cancellations, and driver availability to ensure efficient service delivery.Client Support:Interact with elderly clients in a patient and understanding manner, addressing concerns and ensuring their transportation needs are met.Navigate challenges related to clients who may be hard of hearing or resistant to change.Team Collaboration:Work closely with a diverse team of drivers and volunteers to ensure seamless coordination and support.Collaborate with office staff to share information and address any challenges that may arise.Problem Solving:Demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and find creative solutions to scheduling conflicts or unexpected issues.Qualifications:Proven experience in scheduling and coordination roles, preferably in a transportation or similar setting.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent communication skills and comfort working with elderly individuals, including those with specific needs.Ability to adapt to changes and handle a fast-paced environment.Compassionate and patient demeanor when dealing with challenging situations.Work Environment:This client fosters a highly supportive and collaborative work environment.
