Schedule: Varied Shifts - 7:00AM - 2:00AM - Monday to Sunday

Wage: $15.00 /hour + TIPS

Location: Chatham Kent John D. Bradley Convention Centre, 565 Richmond Rd. Chatham-Kent

Job Summary : How you will make an impact : You will be responsible for setting up banqueting areas within the unit. You will be expected to follow directives as listed in the banquet event contracts with respect to table and chair set up. You will be responsible for food table layouts and audio/video equipment set up.

As a Porter, you will :

  • Set up tables and chairs which includes placing table clothes and skirting as needed
  • Ensures that halls are clean prior to set up and electrical outlets are functional
  • Ensure all wirings used for electrical connections are taped securely on carpets/floors
  • Stack tables and chairs as per business guidelines
  • Ensure janitorial room, ticket booth, and coat check rooms are clear of furniture and other equipment
  • Attend all health and safety training
  • Use all required PPE where indicated and report and unsafe conditions, hazards, and all workplace injuries

About you :

  • Previous cleaning experience is an asset
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Must be reliable, motivated, enthusiastic and a team player, willing to assist as needed
  • Must be able to use cleaning equipment
  • Physically able to carry out duties of the position
