We invest in thegrowth and development of our teams to actively participate in the creation ofmemories and moments that matter to our residents.About the RoleThe Laundry Attendant reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and provides laundry services for residents and guests in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the community while providing a safe work environment for all persons served.RESPONSIBILITIES:Include but not limited to;Processes linens, drapes, personal residentclothing that will include collection and redistribution to appropriatelocations.Stock cupboards with clean linens as per quotas.Washes, dries, sorts, folds, hang items.Uses labeling equipment to label and re-labelresidents’ clothing to ensure name is clear and accurate.Operates and maintains equipment includingwashers, dryers and transport carts based on the established guidelines.Maintains a safe environment for residents, family and staff, through:accident prevention,knowledge of emergency procedures and regulations,the safe use of supplies and equipment andreporting when repairs are necessarykeeps work area in an orderly, safe and cleancondition, andUtilizing infection control proceduresRecommends ordering of chemicals and facilitylinens.Actively participates in orientation of new staff and attends and participates in community education programs.Cross trained to work within other areas of support servicesas required.Required to work positively and collaborativelywith all team members and supervisors.Performs other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.WHMIS Certificate.First Aid Certificate as applicable.Food Safe Certificate an asset.All successful applicants must pass thevulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.Must be in good health, physically able to operate related equipment and tasks related to the position.
