Summary

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, invoicing and back-end payroll, benefits and pension administration.

Job Duties

  • Inventory Valuation, Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation, AR AP Balancing & Accrual’s clearance, Calculation of Prepaid expenses, Accounts reconciliation sheets with GL, Maintenance of fixed Asset Register & Depreciation
  • Daily Invoicing and sales number update
  • Calculation of monthly pension payments, and accurately reporting of employee & employer contribution remittances on Manulife web portal
  • Prepare and update weekly payroll journal entries to the General Ledger
  • Periodical Payroll Source Deductions and other account deductions reconciliation such as Garnishments and Family Support
  • Calculation of Benefits payment and posting of journal entries into GL related thereto - Sunlife & Life Works
  • Update Benefits rate change in Payroll processing system
  • Unions Dues Calculation and Reporting
  • WSIB & EHT reporting
  • Fully conversant with Payroll year-end process, T4 including pension adjustments and T4 amendments etc.
  • Annual reconciliations and filing of WSIB & EHT
  • Maintain payroll records for SR&ED, Apprenticeship Hours
  • Distribution of Customer Invoices and uploading on their websites & supplying customer copies of missing invoices
  • Debit or Credit Notes for RMAs etc. (if any) ensuring proper supporting documentation attached from the system and filed
  • Customers rebate calculation and its monthly reconciliation

As required :

  • Sort and file documents after processing
  • Respond to customer inquiries, investigate, and resolve invoicing discrepancies
  • Audit reports and other accounting tasks as required
  • Tool Allowance calculation
  • SR&ED payroll information plus CEWS & CRHP calculation
  • Act as back up of accounts payable & receivable role

Requirements :

  • Post secondary education Accounting or Bookkeeping
  • Payroll Certification Professional is an asset
  • 2+ years bookkeeping experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Comfortable moving between accounting software, Excel datasheets
  • Analytical, quantitative, and attentive to details
  • Strong at multitasking, highly organized
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Prior experience to work with Payworks and Odyssey ERP software will be plus
  • Don’t hesitate to put extra efforts to close month end timely

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $1.00-$2.00 per hour
